Founder, CEO, CFP, MBA

John is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP) with over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, specializing in retirement income planning for business owners and families. John holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship and serves as an Adjunct Professor at UC Berkeley Extension, where he teaches and mentors professionals on financial and business strategy. Throughout his career, John worked with some of the largest investment firms in the country, gaining deep insight into how traditional financial institutions operate. Over time, he saw a consistent gap: small business owners were often underserved and overlooked by large firms focused on high-net-worth individuals and corporate clients. That realization led John to found 1791 Financial Services. Our mission is simple—help small business owners keep more of what they earn, reduce unnecessary costs, and make smarter financial, tax, and insurance decisions that support both their business and their family’s long-term security.
